Coronavirus in Verbier

Where can I find information on the evolving situation in Valais and Switzerland, as well as the latest security measures?

Canton of Valais website

Swiss Confederation website

How many cases of COVID-19 are there in Verbier?

The health authorities do not communicate figures by region. The number of cases is counted per canton. It is important to know that only people presenting symptoms and considered as vulnerable are tested.

Will Verbier be put in quarantine?

No. The Federal Council and the Canton of Valais, which would ultimately make the decision about quarantine, decided on 23 March to reject this measure for Verbier and Val de Bagnes.

If new restrictive measures were brought in, how would I know?

The Swiss Confederation website is updated daily. There, you can find the different measures decided by the authorities, as well as other information related to the current situation.

If any changes specifically affect our region, you will find all the information at www.verbier.ch

Food shops

Are the supermarkets open?

Yes, supermarkets and food shops are open. The warehouses are full and shops will be properly supplied. There is no risk of food shortages.

What do I need to know before going shopping?

In order to respect the safe distance measures within the shop, the number of people on the premises at any one time is limited. Disinfectant is available at the entrance to all supermarkets.

In order to protect staff, please try to pay by card.

I am a particularly vulnerable person, who can I contact to do my shopping?

The Bagnes Valley Youth Associations are available to help (free service).

For food shopping or going to the pharmacy, don’t hesitate to contact them HERE.

Is there a home delivery meal service?

Yes, you can find the different meal delivery services HERE.

We recommend placing your order the day before.

Transport

Are the resort’s shuttle buses running normally?

No, the shuttle bus service has been suspended until further notice. The distancing measures between passengers couldn’t be respected due to overcrowding.

Are the PostBus and TMR train running normally?

The cash desk at Le Châble TMR station is closed and bus drivers are no longer selling tickets. Please buy your tickets online or at the machines in Le Châble station.
