in Champsec
  • Champsec is recognisable from afar, snuggled at the foot of a small hill on which the chapel is built.

  • Due to its strategic location, the latter was able to survive the debacle of Gietroz in 1818 when almost the entire village was destroyed. The village also has a museum showcasing the soapstone furnaces typical of the Valley and which some simply refer to as “le bagnard”.
