Joseph Gorgoni

Larger than life, a true survivor, he’s returning with his new show. Pulmonary fibrosis, double-lung transplant, 42 days in a coma, life-threatening fungal infection... Against those overwhelming odds, it’s unimaginable Joseph Gorgoni would be capable of mounting his comeback show. Yet, he’s back from the ‘dead’ and back on stage. Languishing deep under the covers of his intensive-care bed, he made a promise to himself: to laugh about his ordeal with us.

“Some people write books. But I like to express myself through humour and laughter. Talking about it helps get it all off my chest... I really want the show to be light-hearted and, of course, funny!”

Joseph Gorgoni is a stage actor and comedian. After training as a dancer, he started out playing roles in the musicals Cats and The Rocky Horror Show. That was before he met author and theatre director Pierre Naftule. Working with him, he created the character of Marie-Thérèse Porchet for the 1993 Revue Genevoise satirical review show.
