Linking the valley and the mountains, the first segment - connecting Fionnay to Panossière between alder and other deciduous trees - will make your legs burn as it does for the Grand Trophée des Combins runners. Once you've caught your breath on the gentle slopes of Marduet, you begin to enjoy the breeze caressing your face, while you scramble between mossy pebbles, glacial debris and silvery streams. Intoxicated by the cool of the nearby glacier, you can then enjoy the view and a welcome refueling break at the Panossière hut. Colossally beautiful, the massif will remain in your heart for a long time to come. A good 200m vertical up to Col des Otanes raises the bar even higher: from your vantage point, you can experience the full magnitude of natural beauty in this corner of paradise that stretches as far as Lake Mauvoisin, dominated by the legendary Pleureur and the historic Giétroz glacier. At one with the stillness, you feel a sense of profound bliss which guides you down the long descent between the rocks to finally reach a gentler section after the reservoir to Bonatchiesse and then Fionnay.
