This course will allow you to enjoy the beauty of the Val de Bagnes with friends and family. From the centre of Verbier there is a short descent on the road as far as the Corthay Bois sawmill in Verbier Village. From here you leave the tarmac to take the Route du Soleil. This stony farm track takes you to the sunny village of Sarreyer.

Take the time to contemplate the panorama that awaits you.
You may be lucky enough to see the famous “Moulin Sarreyer” (created in 1837 and renovated in 1990) working.

Then you rejoin the main road which takes you to the village of Lourtier.
There you will have the opportunity to recharge your batteries on the beautiful terrace of the Hôtel de la Vallée, before tackling the ascent to the dam.

From Lourtier head for Fionnay, where you will also find a typical local restaurant called “Le Mazot”.

Continue on your way and when you arrive at Bonachiesse look up and you will see the “Mauvoisin Dam” in the distance.
For the more adventurous, it is possible for you to reach the top of the wall.
From there you can admire the panoramic view of the Bagnes Valley and Lake Mauvoisin.
For the others, there is a nice terrace in the Hotel de Mauvoisin at the foot of the wall.

On the way down, stop at the promenade restaurant in Bonachiesse, to admire this imposing arch dam one last time. The return is done entirely on the main road going towards Châble. You will also have the opportunity to go through lots of small villages. When you arrive at Châble take the cable car back to Verbier. Between seasons you can also travel on public transport in the region.

For the more adventurous, you can go to Verbier by the main road, following in the footsteps of the Tour de France.
