Concert of Ensemble Vocal de Martigny

The Ensemble Vocal de Martigny is presenting an ambitious concert programme in conjunction with the Aargau-based Soland Chorkunst professional choir, the Symphonistes d’Octodure professional orchestra and the 7 Sed Unum baroque ensemble of period-instrument musicians.

The concert features Mozart’s Requiem played in a form that is not at all familiar: the audience will have an opportunity to listen to those sections of the work composed by Mozart himself, and by him alone (without the additions made by his pupil F. X. Süssmayr), together with works, selected to resonate with the Requiem, from other periods and in different styles (by Purcell, Bach, Lotti, Haydn, Esenvald and Pärt).

Performing in the concert will be some 55 singers, including 16 professional vocalists from the Soland Chorkunst, four soloists and 25 musicians.
