This marathon will take you from Verbier to Grimentz with 125km. It is renowned as one of the most challenging mountain bike races in the world. Located in the heart of the Valais Alps, in an alpine playground, the route crosses various valleys, culminating in the Pas de Lona, at over 2,700m.

  • What is the Grand Raid BCVS?

    The Grand Raid BCVS is a mountain bike marathon held every year in the heart of the Valais Alps. Recognised as one of the most demanding MTB races in the high mountains, it has been thrilling riders since 1990. The flagship route links Verbier to Grimentz over 125 km, reaching its highest point at the Pas de Lona at over 2,700 metres altitude, crossing several Alpine valleys.

  • What routes are available?

    Several distances cater to all levels: the iconic Verbier–Grimentz route (125 km), as well as intermediate starting points from Nendaz (93 km), Hérémence (68 km) and Evolène (37 km and a 54 km variant). An e-Raid on e-bikes and a Team Race complete the offer. The Raidy Coop is dedicated to riders under 15.

  • What is the minimum age to participate?

    Participation is open from age 15 for most routes. The Verbier–Grimentz route (125 km) is reserved for riders aged 18 and over. Riders under 15 can take part in the Raidy Coop. Parental consent is required for minors.

  • How do I register?

    Registration is done online via the official website. On-site registration is also possible during bib collection. Exact deadlines are published each year on the website: grand-raid-bcvs.ch

  • How do I get to my starting point?

    Buses are organised from Sion to the various starting points. You can also make your own way there. Transport can be booked at the time of registration. A personal belongings transfer service from each starting point to the finish area in Grimentz is provided.

  • Are there refreshment stations on the course?

    Yes, several refreshment points are located along the route.

  • Where does bib collection take place?

    Bib collection takes place in Sion the day before the race, as part of a Bike Village with partner stands and catering. A friend or family member can collect your bib on your behalf.
