Two animated films for the whole family: Peter and the Wolf, the story of a brave boy and his animal friends, followed by The Magic Piano, a magical journey across Europe on a flying piano.
VF KiDS invites families to a double feature of animated films focused on storytelling, music and imagination.

The programme opens with Peter and the Wolf, an Oscar-winning stop-motion film directed by Suzie Templeton. Entirely without words, this adaptation breathes new life into Sergei Prokofiev's famous tale, telling the story of an intrepid boy, his animal friends and their encounter with a menacing wolf in a snow-covered village.

The screening continues with The Magic Piano, a 3D animated adventure in which two children discover an old piano that can transform itself into a flying machine. Carried away into the air, they travel across Europe on a journey full of obstacles and discoveries. The film is accompanied by Frédéric Chopin's music, performed by Lang Lang, which enriches the narrative.

Accessible to all ages and languages, these two films offer a cinematic experience to be shared with the whole family, where music and images take the place of words.

Drawing competition: Peter and the Wolf
VF KiDS invites all children to create drawings inspired by the enchanted world of Peter and the Wolf, to mark the 90th anniversary of Prokofiev's famous musical tale. Immerse yourself in the timeless story of Peter, the wolf, the cat, the bird and the other characters!

Thirteen drawings will be selected by members of the Verbier Festival artistic team and illustrator Marc Philippin. These works will be incorporated into an animated film directed by Marc Philippin and screened during a show at the Verbier Cinema as part of VF KiDS on 18 July 2026. The 13 winning drawings will also be presented online on the Verbier Festival website.

- One winning drawing per age category will be selected by the jury, and the artists will each win three tickets to the performance of ‘Peter and the Wolf’ on 18 July at the Verbier Cinema (for one child and two guests), as well as a box of Caran d'Ache coloured pencils.
- Up to 10 other drawings will also be selected from all categories, and their creators will each win two tickets to the same show (for one child and one guest).
- Winners will be contacted by email no later than 18 February 2026. The selected works will then be unveiled to the public on 19 February at the Verbier Cinema, during the VF KiDS film screening of Peter and the Wolf.
