- Which system hosts information from destination partners?
All the partners’ objects are stored on Apidae. Apidae is a high-performance tourist information system (SIT) used by many European tourist offices, with which the same information can be distributed across several digital projects. Example: www.verbier.ch website , Verbier Tourisme broadcast screens, etc.
- I sometimes receive emails from Hubo/Dahub updating information about my establishment. What is this system?
Hubo/Dahub is a platform for sending grouped forms, all connected to Apidae. When you reply, we receive your information, check it and publish any requests for changes. Requests for restaurant openings are sent via this programme every month and enable us to update each establishment page as well as the list of restaurants.
- Why is it important for us to keep your information up to date?
As mentioned above, as soon as we receive your information and/or changes, we update your establishment’s details. In this way, your services and facilities are presented in the best possible light to visitors to the destination and will never go unnoticed! ✨
- Can I publish information from Verbier Tourisme on my own website?
Yes, thanks to Apidae we can provide you with a selection of our information in the form of a widget (a small application that integrates into a web page). For example, you can have the list of events in the destination on your site, the list of restaurants or any other category of establishment.
- I've heard about digital support for partners. What does this involve?
If you wish, we can help you with your digital development and any other changes you may need. This could involve support in using certain digital tools offered by Verbier Tourisme, new connections between your booking system and Feratel or Openbooking, or even improving your e-reputation? We’d love to hear your ideas and needs!
- I've seen that there are notices on certain partner files. How does this work?
Verbier Tourisme is currently testing the distribution of customer reviews via Fairguest. For the moment, we are distributing reviews of hotels and restaurants at altitude. This includes reviews on 20 different channels such as Google, TripAdvisor, Hotel.com, Booking.com etc. In order to have a sufficient e-reputation to add Fairguest, a minimum of 10 reviews over the last 3 years is required. To find out more, don’t hesitate to contact us at promotion@verbiertourisme.ch.
- How is availability of accommodation advertised on verbier.ch?
Verbier Tourisme is working with Openbooking, a meta-search engine developed in collaboration withAGIV and hoteliers. This means that it will aggregate the results from the various platforms on which accommodation providers have put their properties online and display them on verbier.ch. The customer is then redirected to the partner’s booking platform.
- Are customers redirected to booking.com or directly to my site?
We’re aware that it’s difficult not to be present on the booking.com reservation platform, but Verbier Tourisme’s aim is to encourage visitors to be redirected to our partners’ sites rather than booking.com.
This is why Openbooking has a direct connection with certain reservation systems (Seekda, CITI, Avantio) and can therefore fetch prices and availability in real time from your website and upload them to verbier.ch.
When a traveller clicks on your offer, they are instantly redirected to your website. If you work with another PMS (reservation system), Openbooking can :
- ? Either contact your reservation system to find out about direct connection possibilities.
- ? Or set up a “dynamic redirection” system: in other words, Openbooking will continue to send price and availability information from the booking.com platform to the verbier.ch site. Then, thanks to a so-called “deeplink” link, we will be able to redirect the customer who has clicked on the offer directly to your reservation system and no longer to booking.com. If a supplement (of 5% for example) is applied to the booking.com rates, it will be taken into account to reduce the prices displayed on verbier.ch so that they correspond to those in force on your site.
All this may seem complex at first glance, but you should know that we are here to help you every step of the way?
- Can I get statistics on the visibility of my accommodation on verbier.ch?
Of course, Openbooking allows Verbier Tourisme to analyse a number of data specific to your establishment, such as the number of clicks on your offers or the average and total value of shopping baskets over a given period.
For our part, we’re currently working on developing new tools that will enable us to go even further in analysing data and gain a better understanding of our travellers’ search behaviour. Stay tuned! ?
- What system should I use to declare my tourist taxes?
Deskline WebClient (Feratel) is used to create an Electronic Arrival Bulletin (EAB). This enables you to collect the personal details of each guest staying at your establishment. This is a legal obligation for accommodation providers. It is also used to declare guests to Verbier Tourisme for the purposes of invoicing tourist tax. It completely replaces the paper version of the arrival booklet.
- Why is it important to provide details of nationality, date of birth and place of residence?
You’re probably wondering why we’re asking you for all this data, which at first glance may seem confidential? There are two main reasons:
- ⚖️ The legal aspect : as you know, accommodation providers are obliged to declare the number of overnight stays recorded in their establishment every month. This is governed by the 1996 cantonal law on tourism, the 2014 ordinance on the law on tourism and the municipal by-law on tourist taxes.
- ? Statistics and analyses : if we have data such as the nationality, date of birth or place of residence of visitors, this gives us very valuable information on the direction to give to our actions to promote Verbier-Val de Bagnes as a destination. Tangible statistics are also essential for our management and decision-makers, as well as for all our partners, in order to gain a better understanding of visitors to the destination. Swiss visitors? Impact of Brexit? Growth in the Scandinavian market? Analysis of this data will enable us to provide all our partners with relevant information and development leads for your marketing actions, if you so wish.
- Is it possible to automate the entry of BAEs from the host's system?
Yes, direct connections are possible between your reservation system and Feratel. The purpose of a direct connection is to facilitate the process of declaring overnight stays and to avoid double data entry in your reservation system and in the Deskline WebClient (Feratel). Here is a list of PMSs (reservation systems) that already have an existing interface: https: //interfaces.deskline.net/index.php?index=30
Can’t find yours on the list? You have two options:
- Your reservation system support contact can find out how to connect to Feratel here: https: //feratel.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/37/group/139
- If your reservation system is unable to connect to Feratel, we can offer you an alternative via the Friva/Mysimpleclient system (currently used by the Hotel W Verbier). This solution acts as a “bridge” between your reservation system and Feratel: it exports the data required for tourist taxes and transfers it to Feratel. Here’s their website: https: //www.friva.at/
- On which system can I create a VIP Pass and how do I send it?
The VIP Pass is created from Feratel’s CardSystem (the BAE creation and VIP Pass creation systems are linked). We recommend sending the mobile version of the VIP Pass for the following two reasons:
- ? Convenience: easily accessible and consultable at any time on the traveller’s smartphone, there is also no risk of loss.
- ♻️ Our commitment to sustainability: by reducing the use of paper and ink, we are helping to protect the environment.
And if some travellers really do need a paper version, you can print the VIP Pass by clicking on the relevant pass in “cards to produce” and then clicking on “print selected”. Follow all the step-by-step instructions on our tutorial.
- I am a private renter in Verbier-Val de Bagnes. Why isn't my apartment/chalet in the search results?
The Openbooking search tool was developed in collaboration withAGIV and the hoteliers of the Verbier-Val de Bagnes destination. For this reason, only the reservation systems of the latter have an interface with Openbooking.
However, we will be delighted to add you to the list of private rental companies available to travellers on our site if you meet the following criteria:
? You rent out your property for at least 14 nights to tourists.
? You declare these nights to our administrative department and collect the tourist tax from your customers.
? You pay the tourist promotion tax for private renters. This tax is collected by the Commune of Val de Bagnes according to the size of your accommodation (see p.7 of the tourist promotion tax regulations).
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at partenaires@verbiertourisme.ch.
?♂️ If you would still like your property to appear in the availability results on verbier.ch, we invite you to work with a rental agency that is a member of AGIV.
