At the heart of an ecosystem as rich and generous as that of the Verbier-Val de Bagnes resort, it’s not uncommon to have your breath taken away by an impromptu encounter with the local flora and fauna (or maybe it’s the difference in altitude?) or to be left speechless by a spectacular view at sunrise.
Here, you’ll have the greatest adventures amid exceptional biodiversity and living traditions, in a delicate and precious balance that we are committed to preserving.

Together with the Val de Bagnes municipality, we are committed to environmental, economic and social responsibility and are pursuing the following objectives:

  • To offer guests high-quality, innovative and inspiring tourist experiences all year round
  • To enhance the quality of life of local residents and promote the local economy, while preserving environmental and landscape qualities, as well as our biodiversity.

At Verbier Tourism, we are committed, through concrete actions, to caring for our environment in a sustainable way and to responding to customer demand. This portal is a first step in raising awareness of sustainability by offering visibility to the organisations involved.

A number of initiatives are currently underway and will be continued as part of Verbier Tourisme’s marketing strategy, as well as the Tourism Master Plan, with the vision of “becoming a benchmark 4-season sustainable tourism mountain destination”.

Welcome to our world of tourist decoration, where art meets sustainability to create memorable, environmentally-friendly experiences.

Verbier Tourisme is working with Design Floral, a local company renowned for its expertise and creativity, to beautify our local area. Faustine, a talented florist, decorator and plant designer, uses her imagination to create unique works of art, while Jacko, a talented jack-of-all-trades, combines his skills in landscaping, civil engineering and carpentry to sublimate each location with finesse.

Design Floral is committed to working with local artists and craftspeople. With a view to sustainability, they favour the use of Swiss products, thereby promoting the local economy. But their commitment goes beyond simply selecting materials. They give a second life to waste materials by transforming them into original works of art, minimising their impact on the environment.

Adopting an up-cycling approach, Design Floral cleverly reuses old decorations to create new installations. The lights used to embellish the leisure park’s ice rink, mostly salvaged from old public decorations, are a case in point, demonstrating their commitment to waste reduction.

Each new creation is designed to be reusable and modular, offering flexibility that adapts to the changing seasons and needs of our region. For example, for the winter of 2023-24, Design Floral has come up with ornaments inspired by the compass rose for the fir trees, adding a poetic and elegant touch to our outdoor spaces, while promoting the reuse and transformation of materials.

Thanks to the expertise of Design Floral, every tourist decoration project becomes a real work of art and demonstrates our commitment to sustainability.

Verbier Tourisme has deployed a team of “Rangers”, true guardians of nature, to scour the region and work in the field during the summer months. Their mission is to raise visitors’ awareness of the need to live in harmony with our natural environment, while assessing the environmental impact of tourism on our territory. As part of the Val de Bagnes tourism development programme, the Rangers play a crucial role in raising awareness among tourists and visitors of the need to respect nature.

As part of this mission, the Rangers provide valuable local information, highlighting the importance of preserving our natural resources and ecosystem. Their presence on the ground helps to improve the management of popular tourist areas, particularly mountain pastures and protected areas.

The Rangers’ approach is characterised by its human aspect, favouring direct contact to raise visitors’ awareness. They are there to call visitors to order or inform them about environmentally-friendly behaviour. The problems they encounter, such as unauthorised camping, damage caused by vehicles or mountain bikes leaving the roads and paths, and incivilities such as littering and unauthorised fires for barbecues, underline the importance of their presence on the ground to protect our natural heritage.

Through their actions, the Rangers embody the commitment of Verbier Tourism and the Commune of Val de Bagnes to respect for the environment and sustainability, thereby helping to preserve the beauty of our territory for future generations.

Recognised by various labels such as “Cité de l’énergie” and “Commune en santé”, the Val de Bagnes municipality is committed to sustainable development. With the appointment of a sustainability delegate, a number of initiatives are being developed in the area, such as an “energithèque” for greater energy efficiency, reusable crockery at events, and various incentive grants for citizens.

Since December 2021, the Le Châble – Vebrier cable car line has been part of the Swiss public transport network. In practical terms, this means that the timetable has been extended from 5.150am to 11.55pm, Monday to Sunday! What’s more, SBB half-fare and general season tickets are recognised and valid for this section.
