  • Its clear waters and flowery shores attract fishing and hiking enthusiasts every summer.

Flanked by two other smaller but equally sparkling mountain lakes, Lac des Vaux welcomes walkers to the heights of Verbier and La Tzoumaz, at an altitude of 2543 metres, for a picnic, a fishing trip or an invigorating swim. It takes about an hour and a half to walk to the lake from La Croix de Coeur, a panoramic restaurant located 20 minutes' walk from the top of the Savoleyres cable car. The Grand tour du Lac des Vaux, if you follow this itinerary, then takes you back towards La Tzoumaz via the very wild Vallon d'Arbi. The whole loop takes about four hours. In its crystal clear waters, the lake is home to rainbow trout and cristivomers, which make fly-fishing and grasshopper fishing enthusiasts happy. Permits are available from June at the tourist office in La Tzoumaz.
