Grande boucle de Champsec

Over 6km long, the Champsec circuit starts 100 metres above the main horizontal district road (Chemin de Podzian). It takes the same path as the short Champsec circuit at the start on the winding uphill path to “Le Plat de Versegères” on the west side of the village. The path then heads down into the forest onto a hillside path that goes above the village to the area called “Les Tzans”. It then joins the “Domaine de la Sasse”. You head back via the same path, this time going uphill. (Careful of the ski run crossings 400m along!). Finally, take the last slope down, which is fairly steep, to get back to where you started via a slight incline.

Created in 2009, this ski circuit is great for beginner cross-country skiers, as well as those who are more experienced, and is suitable for both skating and classic cross-country skiing. Everyone can discover the magnificent panoramas over the valley along this route and can appreciate the peaceful setting and magic of the Domaine de la Sasse. Its location at the heart of the Bagnes Valley gives each skier the chance to breathe pure mountain air in an idyllic setting...and if the weather permits, doing this ski circuit by moonlight is a real pleasure.
