A long time ago, an enormous boulder hurtled down towards the village of Montagnier. At the last minute, thanks to a promise to give a sack of salt to Saint Bernard, the boulder stopped just in front of the houses. It can now be seen in front of the Maison de la Providence, with a recent statue of the Virgin Mary perched up on top of it. The residents put up a retaining wall in the mountain torrent and built a small oratory upstream of the village, calling it the oratory of the “Three Aves”....
