Vollèges

Steeped in tradition, Vollèges and its surrounding area are the true gateway to the Val de Bagnes.

The villages around Vollèges and the tranquil Mont Chemin overlooking them form a haven of peace where nature and local produce are king.

Vollèges offers itself to you

What adventures will you choose to have today?

Summer

Built around its five-hundred-year-old bell tower, the village of Vollèges is home to a traditional bread oven built in the early 20th century. On site, the Atelier des Terroirs brings together Vollégeards to make specialities such as “Fratze” sausage and “Cressin”, a local bread. Mont-Chemin, situated high up in the area, is a 680-hectare forest reserve that is one of the largest wooded pastures in Europe. Larch forests, clearings and meadows with rich grazing for livestock coexist here. The region’s footpaths take hikers to the Lein, Tronc and Planches mountain pastures, or even higher, to the summit of La Crevasse, for a breathtaking view of the Bagnes valley and Entremont. In addition to hiking, some of the trails are popular with mountain bikers, while the winding Levron road is a delight for cyclists.

WINTER

What a pleasure it is to put on your snowshoes and set off to discover the enchanting scenery on the heights of Vollèges, Vens, Cries, le Levron, Chemin-Dessus and Etiez, where there are some lovely itineraries between the various passes. La Crevasse, at an altitude of 1807 metres, offers an exceptional view of the Entremont. The Vollèges region is a warm and welcoming place, full of charm, like the village of Le Levron, enthroned on its sunny balcony overlooking the Val de Bagnes. Dreaming of sampling some local specialities? Then you’ve come to the right place! The “Fratze” sausage from the Atelier des Terroirs, the beers from the Brasserie de Vollèges and the delicious products from the Etiez cheese dairy will delight you.
