Ski touring night
The Savoleyres area and its restaurant are open on Wednesday evenings until 9 pm for night-time hikers. Every Wednesday, from January to March, from 6 pm to 9 pm, depending on weather conditions. Please check the timetable on randonocturne.ch.
Outside these dates and times, night-time cross-country skiing on the trails is extremely dangerous and strictly prohibited. Snow groomers are pulled by a cable stretched over a distance of more than 1,000 metres, which can whip through the air violently. These cables are invisible at night, and a collision with one of them can be fatal.
Resorts in the region take turns organising evening ski tours during which snow grooming is delayed. There are also alternatives for training at night without risking your life or disrupting the work being carried out on the slopes. Find out all the details at randonocturne.ch
