Some important advice before you set off
Toboggan users must observe the rules of behaviour for ski areas: Respect other users of the piste and skiers on mixed sections.

It is compulsory to wear a lanyard on the sled.
*The user must descend on sight. You must adapt your speed and behaviour to your personal abilities and to the general conditions of the terrain, snow, weather and traffic density on the slopes.

- Is it possible to sledge on a closed ski run?
Access to closed ski runs is forbidden. Sledgers who use the slopes outside operating hours expose themselves to potentially fatal dangers such as the artificial triggering of avalanches or the presence of grooming machines equipped with a winch and/or tiller.
- How should I dress for sledging?
The appropriate and recommended equipment is as follows: (warm and waterproof)
- Anorak
- Ski trousers
- Gloves
- High boots with soles suitable for snow; ski boots are not permitted for tobogganing!
- Snowsports helmet (recommended by the BPA)
- Sunglasses/mask (recommended by the BPA)
- Mandatory sledge clip
- Do I need a téléverbier pass to go sledging on the Tzoumaz piste?
Yes, you need a lift pass for the gondolas. Your ski pass is valid. If you don’t have one, you can buy a special one at the Téléverbier ticket office or online.
- How do I get to the Esserts piste?
Take the free shuttle no. 2 to > le Hameau!
- How do I get to the Tzoumaz piste?
Take the free shuttle bus no. 1 in the direction of > Savoleyres. Then take the cable car; the sledge run starts at the top of the facilities and is signposted.
- Is there a fixed price for the carpet lift at Les Esserts?
No, the carpet lift at Les Esserts is free.
- Do you have to wear a helmet when sledging?
It is highly recommended.
- At what age can children start sledging at La Tzoumaz?
From age 8, accompanied by an adult.
- Is sledging dangerous?
Don’t underestimate the fact that you can reach speeds of up to 50km/h. So it’s vital to be vigilant.
