Lecture by Prof. Kurt Hostettmann – Honey, bees and plants: a millennia-old partnership
The Centre of Excellence in Apiculture is delighted to welcome Prof. Kurt Hostettmann for a lecture on honey plants and the therapeutic uses of bee products. An honorary professor at the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva, Kurt Hostettmann is an internationally recognised specialist in medicinal plants and natural substances.
Through a scientific approach accessible to all, this event will trace the history of honey, provide a better understanding of bee stings, and explore the properties of venom and the therapeutic uses of honey.
From 6pm, the public is invited to explore the Centre and the exhibition in the garden at their leisure.
Lecture at 7pm
A convivial drinks reception will follow to allow for further discussion with the audience and speakers.
