This itinerary is custom-made for a steady run in a splendid setting with mild ascents, rolling terrain and gentle downhills.
The trail starts from the car park at La Côt and gently climbs up a pretty path through the forest to the Larzey pasture. As you climb to the top of the Pasay, then to the Grand Tsai, you pass the motionless chairlifts triggering memories of snowy days. With one leg in the Bagnes commune and the other in Orsières, push yourself harder on the winding ridge combining short descents and longer climbs until you reach Mont Brûlé. From there, catch your breath in front of the magnificent panorama over the two communes, before running on to the Mille hut where Odile and Pierre-Elie Jacquemettaz are waiting for you - and no doubt they’ll have a few tales to tell you. With a final look at the Rogneux and Vélan summits, start the downhill run past the Mille stables revealing the flatter part of the donkey path among rhododendrons to the Croix du Six Blanc from where you can spy the finish at La Côt.
