An exhibition on cars in the Alps at the Musée de Bagnes
Rising or falling, the car is an ambivalent machine in the imagination of the Alps. Its presence in the region and in our daily lives unfolds in ways that intertwine cultural, historical and technical narratives. With no chaos or rubbish, the exhibition takes its inspiration from the space of the car wreck, whose purpose is deconstruction. Placed at the centre of attention, the ordinary car is deconstructed in order to understand differently what it says.
The car is a cornerstone of modern life, in the mountains too. It's part of our lives, which isn't so unusual at a time when decarbonising mobility and the way we think about it is a way of projecting ourselves into the future.
