Climb from La Barmasse to the Brunet hut, crossing snow-covered forests and clearings. Let the majestic peaks and crisp air of the Bagnes valley transform every step into wonder.
Starting from the La Barmasse car park, follow the snow-covered road towards the Brunet mountain hut. At the first crossroads, take the path on the left that climbs into the forest. This first climb is sure to make you sweat, but your efforts will soon be rewarded with increasingly enchanting landscapes. Halfway along the route, you will reach a small clearing, ideal for a contemplative break. From there, you can admire the surrounding mountains, including the imposing Mont-Pleureur, which dominates the bottom of the Bagnes valley. Continue through the forest to the end of this beautiful climb, where you will rejoin the road. There will then be just one last, gentler slope to reach the hut. You can already see part of it thanks to its flag flying in the colours of Bagnes.
After the effort, the reward! Upon your arrival, the Corthay family will give you a warm welcome and introduce you to delicious traditional dishes, not to mention their famous ‘grandmother's’ apple tart, which is not to be missed.
Before leaving, take the time to look up and contemplate the breathtaking beauty of the landscape and savour the tranquillity of the place.
For the descent, simply follow the road that will take you back to the car park.
