Les Ruinettes - La Chaux - Cabane du Mont-Fort
Depart from Médran in Verbier in the cabins to Les Ruinettes. When you arrive, you'll see the restaurant Le Mouton Noir, and the road you need to follow is located downstream of this establishment and marked with pink stakes. This path, which winds its way up the hillside, will take you as far as La Chaux, where the Combins massif will come into view as you go along. At this point, you've already completed the first stage of the route and you can stop off at the Dahu restaurant, which you'll see on your left.
For the more courageous, the Mont-Fort hut is not far off! After a few metres downhill, the path climbs back up and skirts the Gentianes facility on the right. Then climb for a few minutes alongside the cable car and turn right until you come to a large pylon. At the foot of the pylon, you can see the hut above you. A final, steeper climb will take you to the finish.
