The Verbier 3-D Foundation is proud to unveil a new site-specific work by this year’s artist-in-residence, Cannupa Hanska Luger, on view in the Sculpture Park.
During his six-week residency in the alpine village of Verbier, Luger immersed himself in the landscape and community of Bagnes, using his multidisciplinary practice to explore the complex relationships between people and place. His time in Verbier served as a space for reflection on ecological consciousness, cultural heritage, and communal responsibility.
Grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems and material histories, Luger’s new work considers the region’s unique environmental legacy and evolving relationship with land and resources. By weaving together local and global narratives, the artist invites us to imagine a future shaped by deeper connection, accountability, and collective courage.
10:30 AM – Meet at Médran lift station in Verbier (please bring your lift pass)
11:15 AM – Walk to the sculpture site, followed by a short presentation by the artist
11:30 AM – Drinks and informal gathering
12:30 PM – Event concludes
Please wear comfortable clothing, hiking shoes and remember to bring water. Families, strollers and dogs welcome!
