Description

Chanrion Hut
At the end of the Haut Val de Bagnes, isolated and unspoilt, the Cabane de Chanrion stands at the end of the Mauvoisin dam. Perched at an altitude of 2,462 metres, it blends into its high mountain environment. Owned by the Geneva section of the Swiss Alpine Club (CAS), the hut was designed with ecology and sustainability in mind. It combines the simplicity of a mountain hut with modern comforts: cosy dormitories, clean bathrooms and a light-filled dining room offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. In winter, experienced ski tourers find it an ideal stopover point. When the snow disappears and the green pastures reappear, the hut opens its doors to a varied clientele: seasoned mountaineers in search of new peaks, families and mountain bikers attracted by the altitude, tranquillity and magnificent landscapes.
