High mountain refuge at 2'457 meters

The legendary hut and its high mountain restaurant offer one of the most exceptional views of the mountains around Verbier. The spectacular panorama includes Mont Blanc and the Grand Combin. The traditional, cosy alpine atmosphere and the tasty local dishes make it a must-see destination. In winter, the sunny terrace, perched at 2'457 m, is the perfect place for a lunch break in the middle of the slopes. And in summer, access is easy for mountain bikers on one of the many mountain bike trails in the area. Many hiking trails also pass by the Cabane du Mont Fort, including the famous Sentier des Chamois leading to Lac de Louvie. With so many different ways to get there, there is something for everyone to do on the way to the hut. Many activities are available in the vicinity of the hut, for example the Via Cordata du Mont Fort and the Via Ferrata des Gentianes. In addition, the hut is situated on the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt and the tour of the big dams.
