In Médières, on a beautiful terrace overlooking the Val de Bagnes and facing the Catogne, La Ferme du Soleil is one of those mountain addresses with a true farming soul, while offering warm, modern comfort thanks to the recent renovation of the building. Just two minutes from Verbier, Viviane always welcomes you with a smile and serves dishes made with farm products.
Viviane and Blaise Collombin
Farmers Viviane and Blaise transformed La Ferme du Soleil in 2016 into an agritourism restaurant above the stable, home to calves, goats, kids, ponies, rabbits and hens. Their son Denis works with Blaise on the farm, while Viviane is in the kitchen — unless she is chatting with her guests about the farming life she loves so much.
Food side
Cold local platter. Cheese dishes (croûte au fromage, raclette, fondue). Burger with Raclette du Valais AOP, homemade farm beef tartare, three-meat fondue served Chinese-style, Bourguignonne or Bacchus. Slow-cooked daily specials. Ice cream and crème brûlée, local herbal teas.
Our tip
After a hike above Verbier, along the bisse or up to the La Chaux alpine pasture, end your day on the terrace facing the Catogne, home to the precious Sembrancher mineral water spring. You can also enjoy the comfortable dining room upstairs.
