My name is Sandy Miller, and since graduating university in 2000 I have been teaching, leading and training people year round in the mountains, and since 2009 I have been based in the Verbier area.During that time I have achieved the highest level of qualification (the Brevet Federal) both as a ski instructor and as a hiking guide. During that time I have achieved the highest level of qualification (the Brevet Federal) both as a ski instructor and as a hiking guide. I have also trained many people towards their own qualifications, including BASI levels 1 and 2, the Summer Mountain Leader, the Mountain Safety and European Mountain Safety exams (for skiing off-piste), and the BASI level 3 and 4 teaching exams. As such you can feel secure in the knowledge that I am a highly qualified and experienced mountain professional, and that I know the area very well.
The mountains are a very important part of my life, and I spend my free time during the winter either ski touring, exploring the off-piste, or chasing around with my daughters on skis. During the summer I spend my time running in the mountains, and I have had some good results in sky running, ultra running and trail running events.
I am passionate and enthusiastic about what I do, and I love helping people get the most out of their time in the mountains regardless of their levels of experience and confidence, or their aspirations, or whether they are a skier, a hiker, a runner or a snowshoer.
