  • Both sections of the via ferrata can be negotiated either consecutively or independently.

  • The first section, "Saxifrage", starts from the picnic area and plunges into the gorge of the Dranse. There, a first small monkey bridge connects the other side, where 250 metres of crossing, between rungs (320) and cables, allow to join the old bridge. This part has been designed for young people from eight years old.

    To get there, you can leave your car in the car park near the Hôtel de Mauvoisin (free parking). From the hotel, follow the signposted path back down to Madzeria. It takes...

    Equipment hire available at the Fionnay tourist office. Complete kits or separate rental of harness, lanyard and/or helmet. Please enquire beforehand about availability.

  • You can leave your car in the free car park next to the hotel of Mauvoisin. From the hotel, follow the marked trail which goes down to Madzeria. It takes about 10 minutes to join the start point.
