This hike leads to the Cabane de Louvie and its mountain lake, in the heart of the wild landscapes of the Val de Bagnes.

You can start from either Les Ruinettes or La Chaux, both of which are accessible by cable car. From Les Ruinettes, the trail first follows the bisse to La Chaux before descending slightly towards Mintset and then climbing back up towards Col Termin. Up there, the views of the Valais Alps and the unspoilt alpine atmosphere are well worth the detour. After this crossing, the trail leads to the magnificent Cabane de Louvie, perched at an altitude of 2,250 m overlooking its peaceful lake, perfect for a break in the sun. The descent to Fionnay brings this adventure to a close, where it is not uncommon to spot chamois or ibex. Please note: the route includes a few exposed sections not recommended for those with a fear of heights. Take the time to assess your physical condition and abilities.
