Iconic Places in Verbier and the Val de Bagnes

A peak that scratches the sky. Visible from the Rhône plain, this rock face is one of the symbols of central Valais. Its name comes from the patois word “avouè”, meaning “pointed”. Its shape says otherwise: angular, almost rectangular, cut against an azure sky at 2,473 M. From up there, the vertigo is never far away: the view takes in Verbier, the Val de Bagnes, La Tzoumaz and the Rhône valley, with Mont Blanc and the Grand Combin in your sights. On foot, with or without the lifts, from Verbier or La Tzoumaz up to Savoleyres. For a dose of adrenaline: a ladder for the final metres. A prime objective for hikers, a playground for climbing enthusiasts.

A sculpture appears around the bend. On foot or by bike, between La Chaux and Les Ruinettes, the 3D Sculpture Park brings together monumental artworks in the middle of the mountains. Here, art and ecology meet in the open air. An exhibition with no walls, to experience at your own pace.
