Description
Small refreshment bar on the mountain pasture and sales of handicrafts.
On Mont-Chemin, above Martigny, Saxon, Sembrancher and Le Levron, the wooded alpine pastures invite you to take a walk. Nestled just above the pass, which is accessible by car, the Lein alpine pasture is home to 150 cows, almost all of the Hérens breed, as well as goats and pigs. The farm building houses a cheese-making room and a lovely refreshment hut. The place is peaceful, and the view from the pass over the whole Val de Bagnes, all the way to the Italian border, is majestic.
Florent Farquet
Florent has been the tenant of the alpine pasture since 2025. Originally from Le Levron, taking over the Lein alpine pasture was an obvious choice for him. Passionate about the Hérens breed, he has made farming his profession. He even makes the cheese himself, while his sister Laurie runs the refreshment hut. Together with their team, they look forward to welcoming you this summer to this warm and welcoming place.
Food side
A platter with regional products, croûte au fromage with Raclette du Valais AOP, artisanal ice creams and homemade cakes. Fondue from the Étiez cheese dairy. “Rösti-Raclette”, a revisited version of croûte au fromage! Macaroni du Lein for pasta lovers. Raclette by reservation.
Our tip
Every day, come and admire the Queens up close. Around 11:00, they return to the stable and pass in front of the refreshment hut. At 17:00, they go back out to graze. Guaranteed goosebumps!
The refreshment hut is open only in summer, when the cows are on the alpine pasture (approximately from early June to mid-September). Food served until 20:00.
