Les Grands Plans

The Grands Plans restaurant is located 1h30 on foot from Verbier and 30 minutes from the Savoleyres gondolas. The alpine pasture welcomes you for a gourmet break facing a spectacular panorama of the Combins massif. Set alongside the stable that is home in summer to the largest herd of Hérens cows in Valais, the restaurant has a kitchen and a few friendly tables. Outside, a large terrace lets you fully enjoy the alpine setting. Laurent Landraud Originally from south-west France, Laurent has made the Val de Bagnes his adopted home. He has been running the Grands Plans restaurant since winter 2018. Deeply attached to the place, he transformed the living area of the stable so it could open in summer, while allowing the shepherds to stay upstairs during the alpine pasture season. Always in good spirits, he keeps an eye on everything — except the 185 cows looked after by the four shepherds! Food side A generous menu that celebrates local classics: fondue, croûte au fromage and cheese rösti. There are also more exotic dishes with a local twist, such as nachos with Raclette du Valais AOP-Bagnes 1 or a salad with Marie-Danielle’s goat’s cheese. Our tip Follow the Levron bisse and treat yourself to a gourmet break on one of the largest alpine pastures in the Val de Bagnes. From late July to early September, listen to the 185 cows leaving the stable at 7:00 and 16:30, or returning at 11:00 and 20:30. A sound experience that echoes far and wide! Group bookings possible.
