And in summer, access is easy for mountain bikers on one of the many mountain bike trails in the area. Many hiking trails also pass by the Cabane du Mont Fort, including the famous Sentier des Chamois leading to Lac de Louvie. With so many different ways to get there, there is something for everyone to do on the way to the hut.

    Many activities are available in the vicinity of the hut, for example the Via Cordata du Mont Fort and the Via Ferrata des Gentianes. In addition, the hut is situated on the Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt and the tour of the big dams.
