This itinerary from Liddes will take you on a nice path climbing gently through the forest to the hamlet of Vichères. The path then continues on the Bavon ridge, alternating short descents and longer climbs until it reaches La Chaux. Here you can catch your breath in the middle of the Val Ferret protected area, with a magnificent panorama of the Swiss, French and Italian Alps, before descending towards Liddes on a steep path with the Grand Combin in view.
